Mekong Bamboo works to develop the bamboo industry throughout the Mekong sub-region to increase income and jobs for the hundreds of thousands of poor people involved in this sector.

We do this by:

• Supporting businesses and investors to implement new bamboo processing technologies
• Assisting provincial and national authorities to develop pro-poor policies that support development of the bamboo industry
• Supporting farmers to manage their bamboo resources and to meet demand for raw material used in high value bamboo products

Mekong Bamboo focuses on three bamboo industry subsectors: industrial processing, handicrafts and shoots. We are a source of information for government agencies, businesses, investors and development organisations. We publish and share information on bamboo technology, business operations, market knowledge, bamboo production and policy analysis.
